무슬림 무장단체 보코 하람이 2월 3일 나이지리아 우웨루 주의 교회에 불을 질러 16명이 다쳤다.

이 지역에서 2명은 사망했고 22명이 집을 잃었다.

이 소식은 이 지역에서 사역하는 세군 우마자 Segun Umaza 목사가 친구인 존 이제니코 목사에게 도움을 요청한 편지가 본지에 전달되면서 알려졌다.

치료비를 도와 달라는 소식을 들은 남아프리카의 르네 위크 부부가 본지에 맡긴 600달러가 2월 24일 세군 목사에게 전달 됐다.

나이지리아 북부 지역은 무슬림 무장단체의 공격으로 기독교가 핍박을 받는 지역이다.

We were not in church service that morning when they attacked and where I live is about 6 kilometers from the church environment where book haram attacked so I was not hurt with my family. 16 of our church members had severe injuries and two killed in their homes. 22 people lost their lives in Uwelu that day. This time we will not erect any church building again considering the fact too that we have no money. If we do they will destroy it again so we would hold our services from house to house until when things are okay in the future. For now we have a need to help our people who are in the hospital get out of hospital. The one who have money have discharged themselves but there are 10 people who have not money and help to discharge themselves and the government cannot help at all. We need help as a church to help our brothers and Sisters out there to get out of hospital. Our calculation is N109, 000 (580 dollars) and this money in Nigeria is a large sum of money but help with whatever you can. Since last week I and other of our members and been meeting people around and no help. Please we need your help. John says you have help them before by western money union and if you can help by it then it is good as we have banks here.
